Fr. Andrew OSB from Our Lady of Guadalupe Monastery preached the brothers' retreat from September 19th - 28th. -

The procession to the Church for the Mass and ceremonies of the 29th is led by Brs. Alphonsus, Gabriel and Louis (L-R). -
The Solemn High Mass of St. Michael the Archangel was celebrated by Rev. Fr. John Fullerton, the US District Superior. -
Acting as the subdeacon of the Mass, the Novice Master, Fr. Kenneth Dean, chants the Epistle. -
Br. Casimir directed the schola, to elevate the minds and hearts of those attending through the Gregorian melodies. -
Fr. Ward, Rector of the Novitiate and deacon at the Mass, incenses the Evangelium before singing the Gospel. -
The sermon was preached by Fr. Andrew. He likened the three religious vows to three nails fastening the religious to the Cross. -
Two postulants, Sean McAuliffe (L) and Timothy de Benedetti (R), present themselves before receiving the habit. -
Fr. Fullerton blesses the habits which the two postulants are about to put on. -
The two postulants and transferring seminarian Dominic Caley recite the Oblation. -
After receiving their oblations, Fr. Fullerton gives the novices' new names: (L-R) Br. Isaias, Br. Brendan Fiacc & Br. Timothy. -
The new novices receive a crucifix to be a subject of their meditation during novitiate. -
Br. Jerome presents himself, asking for the privilege of making his first vows. He received a medal of St. Pius X. -
Br. Dismas, nine yeas after his first temporary vows, had the grace of pronouncing his vows in perpetuity. -

Fr. Andrew reminded the brothers to offer themselves to God with the host on the paten at each Mass through their vows. -
The Subdeacon holds the paten with the humeral veil throughout the Canon, standing at the foot of the altar. -
The beautiful gold-threaded vestments were loaned to us for the ceremony by St. Mary's University, Winona. We are most grateful! -
At the end of Mass, the Te Deum was sung in thanksgiving to God the Holy Trinity. -

After the ceremony, a banquet was held in the Novitiate's refectory. Many priests from the US District were present. -
The brothers were grateful to have five Society Sisters in attendance, as well as many friends and family members. -
The next day, the brothers all partook of a day of camaraderie on the baseball diamond! God gave us beautiful weather. -
Br. Marcel has adapted his South African cricket skills to American baseball. -
The umpire, Fr. Crane, peers in to take a close look at Br. Mark's home-run stance. -
At the park, the brothers were treated to a variety of home-made ice creams made by the Novitiate's kitchen crew. -
The festivities concluded with a tasty fish supper nearby in Wisconsin. The brothers then dispersed once more to their priories.
