The Novice Master

The person in charge of the formation of religious is called by the Church the Master of Novices. It is his duty, above all, to form the religious candidates in the spirit of religious life, It is a spirit of total consecration to God through the three vows.

The Church demands that the Master of Novices give to those under his charge an indepth, interior and exterior formation. In the novitiate, the Master of Novices is the spiritual director of the postulants and novices, who must not only obey him, but also be open with him about their life.  The Novice Master instructs the youth on the more important aspects of the spiritual life of the religious.
